Artistic Tuesday: Give Marilyn a Make-Over
Each Tuesday, I post an art prompt to spark a little bit of inspiration for your creativity. These posts are versatile and can be applied to a variety of creative mediums. Whether you enjoy digital art or acrylic painting (or anything in between like tags, digital art, mixed media, etc), these fun prompts will help you generate ideas for a new project, or maybe add a fun spin to a current project.
I love pop art, and am a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe. I am also a fan of pink. Pink is my favorite color, actually. And, as with many of my creative ideas, I was just flipping through some stock images on my desktop when I came across an old photo of Marilyn Monroe. The stock image was in black and white and (I felt) lacking all the glamour, color and texture that the real Marilyn would deserve (and appreciate) so I immediately went about dressing her up and adding some pink.
Eventually, after hours of cutting and pasting and digital painting, this finished image immerged:
So the art prompt for this week is to Give Marilyn a Make-Over!
You can do what I did and add some head dress. Perhaps you want to give her a new outfit. Maybe recolor her hair? Anything goes! Just take a photo image of Marilyn and give her a make-over, your style!
I have provided a stock image of Marilyn below, you are free to use it. Or if you have your own image of Marilyn, use that.
This prompt is for any art medium or style.
My challenges and prompts are not interactive. You don't have to come back to link up. No comments are required, just your creativity!
If you create something you'd like to share with me, please email me at: shewanderedon@gmail.com and I will showcase your artwork on this post!
And, as a courtesy from me, I have created a cute collage sheet that you may use in all your personal use projects!
Just click on the image to bring it to full size, then save it.
Have fun, and until next Tuesday, happy creating!
