So, grab your sunscreen and get ready to dive into a world of enchantment as we uncover the art of romanticizing your summer and making it a season to remember.

Here are 20 Easy Ways to Romanticize Your Summer

1.  Create a summer bucket list
Make a list of all the things you want to do this summer and check them off as you go.  I will actually be uploading my own Summer bucket list soon, and with a free printable template you can use to create our own!  Watch for it.

2.  Spend time in nature
Go on hikes, have picnics, swim in lakes or rivers, visit the beach or an outdoor cafe.  Enjoy that shady tree in your backyard.  Lay in the grass and read.  Take photos of that pretty sunset or sunrise.

3.  Plan a day trip
Explore new places and make memories with friends or family.  This can be anything within reasonable driving distance.  A strawberry patch, farmers market, lake or river, somewhere scenic.  A popular landmark.  Even a theme park or swimming pool.

4.  Create a summer playlist
Make a playlist of songs that remind you of summer and listen to it while driving or relaxing.  I am currently creating my summer playlist on Spotify.

5.  Read summer-themed books:
Create a reading list with books that give off a summery vibe to you.  Dive into books that take place in the summer and let yourself be transported to a different world.  I actually will be doing a future post with my summer reading list soon!

6.  Create a summer vision board / mood board:
The internet is full of images.  Jump onto Pinterest or google images and pick out a collection of photos and quotes and words that feel like summer to you.  Then create a unique summer mood board!  I love creating mood boards, it's a wonderful creative outlet. I am working on my summer mood board right now.  I will post it to this site in a future post.

7.  Make homemade popsicles:
This is sure to give you that old-school summer feeling!  I remember making my own ice cream pops with kool aid and fresh fruit as a kid.  They were so good, and so much fun to make!  You can buy those little popsicle mold kits for cheap at the Dollar Tree or WalMart.

8.  Make cool drinks like lemonade and iced tea:
I remember drinking both of these growing up.  Country Time Lemonade was a major mainstay in all my childhood summers.  Iced tea with lemon slices, sugar and lots of ice cubes is also pretty amazing.

9.  Buy yourself a few lovely, soft, pastel colored summer dresses:
I have a few of these myself.  I love teal blue and light pink.  They are so soft and comfy.   They definitely help a girl stay cool on those hot southern days!  Plus, I just feel so feminine when I wear them.

10.  Line-dry your clothes instead of using the dryer:
Not only will you save energy and keep from making your house hotter than it already is, but line-dried clothes will smell like the outside!  Don't have a clothes line?  It's easy to make one by tying string between porch rails.  I've also seen people hang their clothes across their porch rails on hangers.  Either way works!

11.  Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies:
Nothing feels more summery than sitting on the porch eating some yummy strawberries or a fresh slice of watermelon!  Not only will it cool you off and keep you healthy, but you can help support your local farmers market!

12.   Have a picnic in the grass:
You don't even have to go anywhere to do this.  The grass in your own yard will work just fine.  If you want a more scenic view, state parks and lake grounds are amazing places to have picnics.  Pack your own lunch or grab some takeout on the way!

13.  Have a chilly milkshake or ice cream cone:
Summertime is the perfect time for ice cream of any kind!  I really love those little old fashioned ice cream stands when I can find one.  But a milkshake / ice cream cone from anywhere works so long as it's extra cold and extra yummy!

14.  Eat a snowcone:
This is another one that takes me back to the good old days of childhood.  I remember my mom stopping all the time so my sister and I (and whatever friends were tagging along) could get a snowcone from the little stand.  I remember there were so many flavors available, I think I chose a different flavor every time!

15.  Go swimming:
Go swimming....anywhere.  The beach, lake, a tube on the river.  You can go to a public pool.  Maybe you have your own pool?  I have an above ground pool I put up every summer.  It's not huge but I live in the city so it's the closest I am going to get to the waves.  It may not be fancy, but I love it!  I really love sitting under the umbrella with a cool drink and reading by the pool.

16.  Watch the sunset and the sunrise:
This one's easy.  Get up early enough to see the sunrise.  I like to sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise above the hills in the distance.  Sunsets are just as pretty, they are so calm and colorful, especially after it rains and the sky is in shades of orange-red and pink.

17.  Sit on your porch / patio / balcony:
I think outside sitting spaces like the porch are often overlooked for the more comfy chairs inside that are equipped with heating/cooling and wifi.  Back in the day, porches were places where families and friends and neighbors socialized.  You don't even have to do that though.   Just sit for a spell and enjoy the scenery, the silence, and the warm weather.  Maybe you'll be lucky like me and you'll have an old cat for company.

18.  Go barefoot:
There is just something primitive about going without shoes.  Walking barefoot in the grass/ground also helps to ground you.  I love being close to the earth and feeling the warmth of the ground.  It's freeing.

19.  Pick fresh flowers, preferably wild ones:
Every time I go for a walk, I keep an out out for colorful flowers.  I love taking pictures of them.  Usually I pick a few.  I always put one in my hair.  I enjoy placing them on my little altar as a offering to Mother Earth.  You can also make a daisy chain!  Just don't pick them all, leave some for someone else to enjoy seeing!

20.  Try your hand at gardening:
You don't have to have a green thumb.  All you need to do is plant something and hope it grows!  Maybe some pretty flowers.  You could create a flower bed.  Plant some veggies like tomatoes or cucumbers (those are pretty easy to grow).  You can even start with a few little pots of herbs (it's a plus if you can keep them alive and then use them in the kitchen!).

These are just a few ideas to make your summer feel magical and romanticized.   Do one, or do them  all.  You can even add your own!  Just embrace the season and enjoy every moment!
