Photo Diary: Summer Weekend Shenanigans

Summer was made for cute little cotton, floral-print dresses!  This yellow one is a fave of mine.

Previously a non-summer girl who has always preferred air-conditioned corners and dimly-lit lights with old, fluffy chairs for reading...I am attempting to cease the moment and soak up the Summer for the first time in literally years!

This weekend we had some visitors.

A little swim party ensued.  As did a bonfire.  We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.  Yum yum!

I even hugged some trees!  Did you know in a study recently conducted, scientists have found evidence that trees have intelligence?  It's true!  I always believed so, anyway.  I even knocked on wood to awaken the little spirit inside before I left the park.  Thanks for the good luck, Mr. Tree!  Don't you just love nature?

I ended the weekend with an amazing dinner made from all fresh veggies (I'll post the recipe for my country crockpot green beans later this week!).

I even *gasp* spent an hour or so floating around in the pool today...under the big umbrella, total sunburn baby here!

Anyway, I am enjoying being a bit of an outside girl this year.  The pictures of the local lake are breath-taking.

Here's to hoping you are getting a little sun of your own!
