Three Color Palette's

Every Tuesday, I post an art prompt to spark a little bit of inspiration for your creativity. These posts are versatile and can be applied to a variety of creative mediums. Whether you enjoy digital art or acrylic painting (or anything in between like tags, mixed media, collage, etc), these fun prompts will help you generate ideas for a new project, or maybe add a fun spin to a current project.

For this week, we are going to let color lead the way.

The Prompt: Below are three color palettes I put together. Choose the one that pulls at you — not the one that seems easiest, but the one you keep looking back at — and create an artwork using only those colors.

The subject is entirely up to you — a portrait, a landscape, an abstract, a tag, a collage spread, a single object rendered with love. The palette is the prompt. Let the colors tell you what they want to become.

Make sure your artwork stays within your chosen palette (neutrals like white, black, and paper texture are fair game), and for a creative twist, choose one color from your palette to be the rarest thing in the piece — use it in a single small place, so that the eye finds it last and remembers it longest.

This prompt is for any art medium or style.
