A Moonlit Walk

October had dressed the little town in shadows and gold.

The wind was chilly, the clouds were restless, and the crooked old houses glowed with jack-o'-lantern smiles. Somewhere in the distance, a church bell chimed, and the last autumn leaves went dancing down the cobblestone streets.

Stacy Lynn pulled her pink scarf a little tighter and swung her pumpkin lantern as she walked.

Beside her, Leo trotted bravely along, his little paws making hardly a sound against the rain-kissed stones.

“Do you suppose there are ghosts about tonight, Leo?” she whispered.

Leo flicked his tail.

He wasn't particularly frightened of ghosts. He was far more concerned about the suspicious black cat watching them from a nearby doorstep.

High above the rooftops, the great October moon peeked through her blanket of clouds and smiled at the curious little pair.

The whole town seemed to be keeping a delicious secret.

Perhaps there was magic tucked beneath the fallen leaves. Perhaps the stars were making wishes of their own. Or perhaps, just around the next corner, something wonderfully unexpected was waiting to be discovered.

Stacy Lynn smiled and continued down the winding street, with Leo faithfully at her heels.

After all, there was no sense hurrying home on a night like this.

Not when the pumpkins were glowing, the moon was smiling, and October still had a few beautiful secrets left to tell.

And so they wandered, two little souls beneath a velvet sky, collecting moonbeams, autumn wishes, and the sort of memories that only magic can make. 🍁✨
